What the day observes

Prabodhini or Devutthana Ekadashi, the eleventh day of the bright fortnight of Kartika, when Vishnu wakes from the four months of sleep that began on Devshayani Ekadashi. The marriage season reopens, and the Tulsi Vivaha, the wedding of the sacred basil to Vishnu, is kept between this day and the full moon.
